My husband and I finalized our plans today for our trip to Chicago next weekend and I couldn't be more
ecstatic. Not only will we be hanging out with friends in one of the coolest cities in the US, we will also be
listening to some of the best music in the world while we are there. Never one for muddy, crunchy, port-a-
potty summer music festivals; this downtown, city scaped, 10pm curfew enforcing ( yes, that means no 13
min. bongo solos) festival was just my style. My mind almost immediately goes from 'who's on what stage' to
'what should i wear' in record timing. This look above is the kind of outfit I would most certainly see a cute girl
wearing as I thought to myself, "shoulda worn that". Yellow has definitely emerged as THE color for summer,
and while we most often see it on tweens in tank tops, I love that she wears it in a retro 60's style tulip skirt.
One that you often skim by while at the thrift stores. Paring this punch of color with an almost unexpected pale
blue top makes the outfit look relaxed, polished, and not one bit contrived. It's almost as if she hasn't done
laundry for weeks, and these are the only too items left in the closet. I love it. Her look is completed with
muted red flats which provide the outfit with the continuity that it never needed in the first place. The overall
look is simple, understated , and totally cool. Above are a few items I found to help you emulate this outfit on
your own.
